Hello all, i'm thinking about buying a truck/trl and becoming an owner operator, will be booking the freight myself from the load boards, $60K max
I would like to get either cascadia 2010-2011 detroit-cummins or a volvo 670 cummins is my preferred choice , drove volvo's for quite some time but parts availability and prices scare me
i'm looking at reliability standpoint as well as fuel mileage, manual is my only trans choice 10-13spd, no auto's , will be pulling dry box , need suggestions on which one to get, will buy new and hoping it'll last me long time, utility/grate dane or something else ?
I've been driving for past 15 yrs but have hard time making up my mind
BTW , will buy it in spring time after reg renewals and have very good credit (806) with zero debt ,have 10% down but really like 5%, advice on where to go for credit and % i may get always welcome
All the suggestions are appreciated
Thank you

for 60k i doubt you will get BOTH truck and trailer.
a decent trailer your looking at 40k fro a dryvan. and for hte cascadia those are stilll in the 50-80k range. depening on options -
think you need to up your max from $60k to around $110k

If you wont to avoid problems. Buy a 03 or older for 25/30k and put 20k into it. then you will avoid all the emission problem that 04 and up have. keep the truck simple and it will treat you better.

Was talking $60K tractor only(2011), plated dry van trl $25K brand new (utility) , has logistics posts and inflation system , don't need other expensive options
Looks like it'll be a Volvo 670 with cummins , drove cascadia but too noisy inside and i like my cab to be quiet -
