Going O/O Any info on Blair, TN Steel Haulers, or Mercer? I want flat bed

Blair is the owner op side of P&S transportation.

Over the last few years the company has done a bit of a turn around. Blair was having some problems and they took a few of the top management from P&S with the task of getting them straightened out. Seems to have worked.

Freight is mostly the same as P&S

P&S also has a company called MTB, flatbed as well.

Most of the lease purchase trucks are former P&S trucks, you can LP for both companies. (power only at P&S)

The trailers they have for LP are from P&S as well. as the new ones come in, the old ones worth trading are sent to the dealers, then the rest is put into the LP pool.


P&S does not really do any maintenance on the trucks. Service work is done at T/A or speedco. If it is a warranty work or repair, then it will go to a dealer.


Trucks are put up for LP after warranty runs out. The LP trucks are ones they can't trade.

As for any lease program, it is only full lease purchase, at the end you own the truck. no short term that I am aware of.

My understanding was the LP list was quite long, some guys waiting almost a year for trucks to come up. It may have changed lately.

 

Schneider, JB Hunt, they all sell their used trucks...

Look for a Columbia or a Century with a Series 60 Detroit....12.7L...or a 14L...Pre EGR is better, but EGR can be dealt with easily on these motors...

OIL SAMPLE and DYNO...I had to get an overhaul 2 DAYS after I bought the truck!!!!...my fault....

 

While I agree pre egr is the way to go. No bank is financing a 12 year old truck.
