detroit isn't as bad if you get a auto manufacturer load - usually drops/hook- I just did a drop for Jeep Wrangler plant chasis division 2 weeks ago it took me 20 minutes in-/out

Depending on where you're at Southfield, Plymouth, Canton will be closer and are safe to stay, Dearborn is a hop skip away and nice.

I don't see a problem here, as an o/o you can refuse any load for any reason including cold weather. I have before, because I didn't want to deal with icy roads or having to idle non stop, depends on the pay of course.

Sure he can refuse the load... but he's probably the same type of driver that will sit and complain and say "why do I sit so much" LOL. Out of all the places I hate to go, Detroit isn't even remotely near the top of that list. Honestly, it's so friggin' dead and empty it's one of the few big cities I DON'T mind going to. As long as I don't have to park there overnight, get in, get out, no big deal??

Turning down any load is not in the best interest of any L/P.

Actually he makes a lot of valid points. But honestly I don't quite understand his "no Michigan" policy. I actually like going there...it's a pretty big state so it's pretty easy to avoid Detroit.
