starting a l/p on 5/3

    i have decided to try a l/p which starts on 5/3 i am starting this thread and going to update it as often as possible with miles pay and all the details of the lease feel free to ask any questions. i am going to keep company name to myself for the first month then i will reveal it and everyone can give there point of view after seeing some #'s
    I will be running all 48 and staying out for 3-4 weeks then 4-5 days home my goal is 12000 miles a month but 10000 will work

    truck is a 2005 freightliner classic just had total rebuild on detroit getting 6.8/mpg
    here are some #'s
    truck payment $270/week
    base plates, ifta , ins, trl rental & ins, $140/week
    bumper to bumper warranty inc tires, tow, blown motor etc $.15/mi

    loaded miles $.90/mi + fsc
    empty miles $.90/mi

    fuel discount

    I'm sorry but $.90 a mile? Those are poverty wages. Are you driving a sprinter van?

    no its .90 + fsc so around $1.20 - .15 maint =1.05 x 3000 mi =$3150 -trk pymt etc $400 =$2750 - fuel approx $1200 =$1550 in my pocket

    After you pay tax will that even leave you a $1000? You can make that kind of money working 5 days a week as a company driver with no headache. I wouldn't take the financial risk, give up medical benefits, and paid holidays for any less the $2000 per week after taxes.

    Pay is way too low, we average $3.42 per mile, I couldn't do .90.

    You're getting ripped off. All that hassle and stress for the same wage as a company driver.

    The cost of fuel seems a bit low. At around 6.5mpg average, I typically pay around $3500 for fuel every two weeks.
