Boy I don't know man. When you work for one of these companies you really do feel like you deserve everything you get.By time you have reached a point where you are making top scale with all the perks you've been at it for years with that outfit and had your share of crap sandwiches.

Not trying to be condescending in any way but years ago I remember all the bs I used to hear about the trucks we were driving and how nobody would ever drive one, how nobody would ever be on call, how nobody would work for a company where you would have to work a dock, etc.

Believe it or not there is a reason we make what we do. If you worked here or at similar company you would think so too. It just really bothers the hell out of me when drivers are proud of making less. With all the complaining I see on here and hear on 19 it just amazes me that drivers actually brag about hauling this freight for half what the company driver makes.

The fact that a company like UPS, FedEx, or Con-way can contract these loads out for less than their own cost per mile should tell you something about the rates your companies charge and the driver compensation or lack thereof.

And one more thing. I'm down in the dumps right now with the flu so I'm on a sick day. Normally I'd be driving right now but it is a really nice thing to stay home with pay when you're sick.

FedEx pulled a fast one on me today. I bought a new phone and it was scheduled to be delivered today. After checking tracking it said customer wasn't there and door tag # such and such left.

I was home all day and no door tag around. I'm on the end of his route and he was too lazy to come out here. I hope it gets delivered tomorrow. :biggrin_25510:

I have an almost similar story: I ordered a performance tuner/programmer for my Suburban. I was home the day it was to be delivered. I tracked the pkg. all day and at 5pm it showed "delivered, left at front door" I looked all over my property, but no pkg. containing a $400 tuner. I called Fedex and opened up a claim. i then walked my block with a flashlite thinking the moron left it at the wrong house but no luck.At 7pm, i took the dog out for a walk and low and behold the box was at my door. I think the idiot dropped it off at the wrong location and was contacted by fedex after the claim was submitted. I wonder what kind of crap i would get from my employer if i dropped a skid off at the wrong customer?

I did give it time. Things been bad for two years. Last July had layoff. 3 were gone. And still not much work. Since than i have not worked a full week. Only done had about 5 weeks where i had 4 days. Getting 1-2 days work not worth it. Unemployment pay little but after taxes not much left. I don't want to leave but have family to look out for. Not to mention sitting around.house gets depressing. After there was no layoffs or anything in January, i started looking for new job. Hoping things be better before i found something. Hope things get better for others below me otherwise they be looking. I hold no anger or anything at company. Just looking forward to my new adventure in trucking.

They done it again today. Customer not home, door tag left.

I called customer service which in turn called Chattanooga Fedex but nobody was there. Bad part is they don't even run Monday's up here so I have to wait until Tuesday. They told me to call back Tuesday and we're going to have a 3-way with the supervisor there. Now I have two packages in limbo. I'm definitely giving that sorry driver an arse chewing. Maybe I'll film it and put it on YT! :)

From what I heard Fedex won't layoff they rather you quit or starve. We had a FedexF guy come over to my company another LTL he was there for 8 yrs and was starving. He didn't make it with us, only a month or less, used to the big bucks of FedexF. I've worked for ground and honestly the company doesn't care for you. That's why I don't doubt they do what they do as not caring if you make money or not. In managements eyes you don't have a college Ed. so you ain't worth anything, take what I give you attitude.

Saw five FedEx freight trucks today on the interstate. Two of them were pulling triples. Either FedEx is doing better seasonally, or they are doing better out West.

If you are employed by fedex freight and not working it's only because you don't want to. There's always the dock. You can bump any part timers out there.

midwest Economy freight goes to columbus mostly, then they send it out from there. The purchase trailers carry the priority freight that needs to go further and be there faster. Also it's for high volume destinations. for example from the midwest to florida or new england, cali.

I think there should be o/o otr fedex drvs but they get a better deal from the others like werner etc. Our fedex o/o run custom critical though.

Fedex freight won't go o/o. They would've done it a long time ago if they were gonna.
