Has anyone here made the switch from CWTL to CWF? I'm in the process now, been thru two phone interviews, had a face to face and yard walk-around the other day, and am now waiting on pre-hire physical and driving test, and drug/alocohol screen. Seems kind of silly as I'm already a Conway employee, but then again, what do I know?. Been OTR with Truckload for two years and have the opportunity to be home now, so I'm gonna make the move if all goes well, which it should. Any tips, dos, don'ts appreciated.
Thanks...

They called me today to let me know about my physical appt. next week and asked me when I wanted to do the driving test...I said how about today, since I only live four miles from the yard. Just finished that with no problem in the old sterling with a straight 7 speed. Was funny being able to look out the back window. I went on a short run with a pup, talked smith system the whole way and did fine. Good group of folks there it seems. Got the official offer letter while I was there. Start date of Jun 17th....probably run some more OTR before I turn my truck in. Looks like it's a go so far....

We use the Smith System at Reddaway, I agree, they do work. I actually feel safer applying the methodes when I drive. I hate watching the DVDs/VHS tapes since they seem outdated as hell. As for CWTL, what is it like working there? How is the pay/time on/off like? BTW, you will like LTL, never done OTR, but LTL pay and benefits are awesome!

You are the first one. I tried doing that move but the Orlando terminal was fully staffed. I did get an offer to relocate to Kansas City when they were hiring but what do I wanna do in KC.

[Oi!;3321308]I was at 38 cents per mile when I left, I spent a year and half with them. Time off is 1 day for every week you are out on the road. Their detention and layover pay is pathetic. Their equipment is very good though.[/QUOTE]
They start us out at 41 cpm. Detention is $16/hour. Good luck with CWF, I am sure you will like it a lot more than OTR.
