Been looking to go local and applied for fuel hauling positions, though if I don't hear anything from them in another two weeks I was going to apply at southeastern or FedEx.

Wanted to know y'all's opinions on them.

With southeastern I'd be doing local P&D in Jacksonville, FL M-F

With FedEx it would be city driving in Ocala, FL, for FedEx freight, not FedEx ground. Didn't know if FedEx might pay better than southeastern

Jut wanted to ask since I search FedEx on here and my phones telling me there are no topics on it

FedEx Freight's top scale is right around 61 cents per mile, and I believe about $25/hr. I'm really close there. Fedex pays overtime after 8 hrs. in a day. Runs of less than 100 miles from the terminal are paid hourly on line haul.
If you are going to apply to FedEx, take the time before you do to get all of your dates right on everything. This is very important, because if you get it wrong, they will disqualify you automatically, and you won't be able to re apply for 6 months. Also, make sure the contact info for past employers is up to date. They won't hire you until everything is verified, and since you are filling out the application online, you won't be able to go back and change anything.
    Good luck. Hope this helps.
You said you couldn't find info on FedEx, so here's a link to help; http://fedexfreight.jobs/

Go to Southeastern. Fedex like con-way is cutting runs left and right..Putting more on cheap carriers like crst and weiner and uses the rails heavily. There are rumors abuzz that another COO is in the works. But it is just that at this point. They just had one a few months back and 400 drivers lost their jobs. Even city work isnt safe anymore. Fedex might pay more but the BS you have to deal might not be worth it..Southeastern is a smaller LTL and you might be happier there. But only you can decide what is best for you.

I would go with Southeastern as well. Also, I would check with Conway too. Good luck Ethan.

So far I've been told either southeastern or also to try old diminion. I'm holding out for now until one of the fuel hauling companies I applied to calls. I'll give it another couple days and then if I don't hear anything I'll apply for old diminion and southeastern.

I want to be local and haul fuel, but if they decide not to hire me then LTL is my backup plan

OD is union in Houston and Southeastern is not. Might be hard to break into OD and you might get bumped back out on a power play....just saying. I like Fedex for the wages and goodies but I don't trust them. ( assuming I'm looking for a career there ) I'll guess they put as much freight on the cheaper ground unit as they can get away with and it's always possible they could try to contract out the unit you're looking at. ( Purple ? )

I'm a little gun shy here too. Seen many a good job dissapear like American Freightways, Central, Grocers Supply etc. where a driver could make a decent wage, have bennies and a retirement too so I tend to look a little harder at todays motor carrier.

Yeah I'm waiting for gemini to call me. I've sent an email to their HR dept and tried calling and left a message but no answer back yet. They're my number one I'm holding out for. Second is EAGLE, then third will be OD or Southeastern

Yeah I guess I'll try OD or southeastern if the fuel places don't pick me up

Also I applied to gemini but after the first part of the app was done my browser messed up and kicked me out of the app site. I logged back in and tried to finish but it said my apps been submitted and I need to wait 10 days to re apply. So I'm going to reapply either tomorrow or Tuesday when the 10 day mark is up
