Any current or past SEFL drivers that could share their experience? Good or bad

I know YRC, UPSF, ABF and OD seem to be at the top.

How does SEFL compare to the rest, SAIA, Averitt, Fedex Freight, AAA Cooper. Are they all about the same or is Southeastern better or worse?

    Thanks

I work for fedex freight, southeastern is a good company acording to the drivers, but conway I would stay away. OD IS VERY GOOD! They have a good pay scale. Fedex has been very good to me and others here, so iwould try there. Conway driver's complane alot and turn over is high. Now this what I here every day from drivers. Hope that helps

Sorry to ask a stupid question, but what does OD stand for? I've been looking and looking for a local job for my husband..... super hard to find here in the Jacksonville area. Sure would appreciate any leads. He can't handle a lot of unloading heavy stuff (was a mechanic for 27 years and that took its toll on his back AND knees) but he is missing out on his kids growing up and besides, I miss him like crazy. He is getting really burnt out doing OTR. Even a dedicated route, like running up and down Florida, would be great. Thanks for any advice!!!

I'm not trying to be rude but I would appreciate you starting your own thread. I'm trying to get info on Southeastern and you post a plea for help finding your husband a local job. Really?

No harm done. I am sure you will get the information you are looking for and a couple of off topic posts will not hurt anything. They actually help your thread get noticed by bumping it to the top and making it appear larger.

Go to South Eastern. I'm planning on going to SEFL or ABF when I move to TN. OD stands for Old Dominion or ODFL-Old Dominion Freight Lines. Good luck with the job!

Speaking as a former terminal manager for both FedEx and Conway......my thoughts
FedEx will micromanage you down to the color of your socks (no joke), but they pay very, very well.....top $$ in the $25 / hr range
Conway is a wanna be FedEx. So just about what you get at FedEx, you'll get at Conway
Southeastern is a privately held company that treats it's people well and most folks seem to be very happy there. They don't pay like FX or CWY, but there's less B.S.
Old Dominion is a company that FX and CWY fear. In the last 5-10 years they've gone from a small publicly traded company somewhere in the top 20, to a very solid, very profitable, very serious contender to the big 2. Pay is good. Work rules are fair. People are pretty happy.
YRC is literally one real bad accident away from being out of business. Union shop with a whole bunch of really unhappy people there (they had to take TWO pretty big pay cuts just to stay open).
ABF is a union shop as well, but it's the little train that could.....just keeps chuggin' along. Pretty decent attitudes and pretty decent folks to work for.
UPSF...see my comments about FX and CWY. About half to three quarters of the terminals are union, so they pretty much pla by the union rules throughout the system.
Saia is kinda half arsed, but it's not as bad as it used to be.
Avrett.....personally, I wouldn't work for those people on a bet. The pay is ok, the equipment and facilities are above average, but it seems like everyone from the president down to part time dock workers have some kind of attitude issue.
AAA Cooper.....a lot like Southeastern, but really, kinda getting left behind. They've closed some terminals this year and they're just not growing. Pay is a bit below average and equipment and facilities are showing their age.

DFREEMAN, herring22, Mike2633 and 5 others Thank this.
