    It's getting bad.

Parsons KS is now advertising for drivers. Team and solo.

Bid time is upon us, and the 5888 mile KS-CA × 2 turn runs are unfilled.

I know team drivers don't want to run 5 days a week and gross over $180,000, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

The solo drivers are on .60 cpm now I think. Probably wild board and covering vacation runs for now - you'd have to ring to enquire.

1 year experience for both, the usual qualifying driving and accident record.

    Blair.

Old Dominion and Super Service are advertising for work based out of Parsons, Kansas. C.R. England is too, but you'd have to be sleeping with the company owner to get .60cpm there, maybe not even than.

I tried to get on. Got 8.5 yrs exp. 5 companies. 0 tickets and clean MVR. Been running linehaul with Rocky Mountain doubles thru i80 Wyoming every night for 2.5 yrs. I must not smelled right or corporate in NC rather run a noob with 1yr across that lane then me. All I got to say is goodluck with that. I had a bad run in with my last company but holding it over my head is stupid. Then again I was happy cause you guys have to deal with a lot of BS stuff that I don't deal with. So to me it was a blessing in disguise. So that's why finding drivers is not happening, you guys are kind of picky. Goodluck.

Well that bites. There's another team on here that went through the process - fully qualified but had a slight hiccup with the medical exam. For some reason corporate slammed the door on them. Multiple attempts at a A STRAIGHT answer - no avail.

With that experience you should have been straight in the door. They'll need to get in the real world pretty soon - freight don't move without drivers.

Dang, That really sucks. When I had my stuff go down with my last job and got let go. I was unemployed for basically a weekend. I applied online early Monday morning and the TM called me 4 hrs later. Went to the interview the next day. He said I had great exp and that what happen was a minor hiccup in his eyes and gave me the job. They required 3 yrs when I got on here at Reddaway 2.5 yrs ago for linehaul. Why I was shocked and my two friends who came to Old D were too. Haven't had anything or incidents since I started working here. I like it here just don't like the whole YRC thing. Making a competitive wage in LTL would of been nice. Oh well, I'll just hang out here. I like my terminal and the people here, I got a bid and make good money. Starting over on Extra board would of kinda sucked. IMO corporate should just make sure you say who you are and let the individual terminal decide. I got approved a year ago when I was thinking of going tanker at a big company Keenan Advantage Group and turned it down to stay. So I don't know what's up with Old D's hiring process. They are too picky on experience drivers. If I started a company I'd hire all the linehaul guys I work with. That's how good of drivers I feel we have here. We all run I70, I 80, I 25 thru colorado, Wyoming, and Montana, only stop if the road is closed. A guy in NC isn't gonna understand that especially since they don't see a drop of snow.

Agreed. The bean counters and pen pushers have little idea of what makes a good driver. I only wish they could come clean and give a reason or a "to do list" to rejected drivers.

Come to think if it - we ( me being a NZ'er) had to pull the " My grandad fought alongside yours in the Pacific" letter to get through to them at the start.

I think they were apprehensive at the foreign thing, and maybe feared a discrimination lawsuit after that letter. Who knows.

You're right - better handled on a terminal basis.

I'm not enough of a company schill to not say they suck when they do.
