JReding and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
Here is the thing I have worked for 2 of the companys unfortunatly I do not think you would get into ups because your lack of experience ABF would be good because they are union and they are a place to be if your looking for benifits and pay. I worked for OD as a linehaul driver and yes you will make good money but they will run you to death like for instance lets say you are on a run that goes from terminal to terminal well central will randomly have you go to another terminal that is way out of your way and you end up working 13 hrs with messing around at terminals and a lot of times when you get to a terminal you wait for your loads a while. Usually terminal managers are good but corperate dispatach has a god complex and is only concened about numbers and also plan to run every holiday the new head of linehaul now has you running every holiday worked labor day and 4th of july so far this year. Fed ex is all about numbers dosent care about employees either.. I would personally try abf after that od but see above and plan to work long hours. If you can get in to ups they would be the best but you may have to start out part time All the linehauls generally make from 65000 a year to 90,000 a year depending on the length of your run most likely you would be around the 65 when you first start till you get senority

There's a real arrogant douche bag on here that works for ODFL. He'll be on here soon.
Watch out. He is a BS recruiter. Don't believe a word he says. -
Here I am!
Don't believe that other guy. He's jealous.
As sore monkey backside said, they'll run you pretty hard solo at OD, but that may suit you. Central is OK to deal with - they're busy like anybody else.
Good equipment, great benefits. Solos just got a pay rise to 60 or 61 cpm I think.
Just remember - you may have to run some miles while you build seniority for a bid run. -
LOL calling yourself a douche bag

Ya know - the biggest problem I've found with new drivers lately is they're not cut out for hard work. Some take to it like ducks to water - but the newly trained dock workers and rookie drivers need to experience OTR to realise the blessing of LTL.
We've been there 7 years now. It'll be our last company job.Gearjammin' Penguin and harlycharly55 Thank this. -
How much experience upsf is asking ?
yeah I think i will try ABF,YRC and ODPO Stoner Thanks this.
