i recently applied at old dominion freight lines. i worked at another ltl company it was a nightmare had two break downs in two weeks it was due to poor maintenance and outdated equipment. the employee morale is terrible. there is a split between management and the employees. showed up a few times for my shift and the supervisor did not know i was comeing in they called me the day before. they have a high freight claim issue. ive seen more damaged freight here than any place ive worked. almost every trailer i had leaked water when it rained had dents and holes in them. brakes were out of adjustment on there trailer's csa score was a 72 when 75 was passing. the trainer told me this when i did the drive test with him. when i did a ride along for training i asked the guy about loading freight in a trailer that is leaking water and he told me if your going to work here you better get used to it. most of the employees on the dock told me i would be better off working some where else. i was shocked to say the least never heard so much negativity at a job i have worked at. i hope i get the job at old dominion.i had my interview and was called back the next day. i filled out my application online at the terminal. i took the drive test and the ua the next day. i have 8 yrs driving experience. a clean driving record and clean psp report and a clean back ground. im a 9 yr veteran of the us navy. i have had a bankruptcy before. im hopeing this does not cause me to not get a job here. but i applied at abf as well. they take very good care of there equipment here and have nice tractors and trailers. noticed that right away when i took the drive test with one of there trainer's.

no it was yrc freight. what a mistake and a waste of time to work there. i left there already. they cut there wages by 15 percent and the pension about 5 years ago. i would not be suprised if they go under in the future. note to self in the future talk to drivers at the company before trying get on with a company so i dont waste my time. this company is a waste of time beware! there csa score is terrible. they loaded a trailer on my last day there. i took it out to deliver the freight. every customer i stopped at they had to use a forklift just to lift the roll up door and to shut it when they were done. kind of embarrassing to say the least. just want to put it behind me and move on!

Most of been a bad terminal. I worked at YRC for two years, two different terminals. Never had those kind of problems all the time. Sure some things were bad but they brought it to get fixed at both places

OP, good luck with Old Dominion. I'm waiting to see if I get an interview but it's reminding me of that old country song that goes "Since my phone still ain't ringing, I assume it still ain't you." Got an interview with Con Way next week, but I can't work up the enthusiasm to settle for 2nd choice.
