    Hi guys and gals,

    Hard day at work today for yours truly. I had a long day at the office driving around down town of which I know not much about. Anyhow driving a big truck down town especially down town C-Town where the ridiculous and never ending construction makes everything a zoo! It's even worse now that the Republican National Convention is coming to town.

    Any how I had a stop at the Casino today and when I got there a Pepsi bulk truck pulled up and I had just gotten parked and had pulled out my ramp and everything and I thought, oh no now I have to move or do something so both of us can get in and work.

    I asked the Pepsi truck if I was in an okay spot or if he needed me to move. He said no and everything would be just fine. In fact then out of the blue he gave me a pair of Pepsi work gloves and said thank you for being so considerate and looking out.

    From day 1 I've tried to be considerate of the other trucks and delivery vehicles the best I can be. Some guys like to be considerate and some guys don't it's just the way it is. Me I try. It was a hard day for me down town today pretty much got my ##### kicked. However it was nice that I got a pair of gloves made everything better.

    I wish more drivers had your attitude these days, not that there aint bunch of good ones out there. One thing I always liked about delivering groceries is the fact that everyone involved is a customer. Never let a few bad eggs ruin your day, cause they are stuck with themselves for life, your not!

    dont be afraid to ask for help with other drivers. when i worked for coca cola, i would ask other drivers(pepsi,bud, and so on) on how to get to certain stores that i haven't been to. most would help since we all deliver to same store on time or other

    Yup, i always ask how the person I'm dealing with is doing as an ice breaker.......and then on my way out I wish them a good day.
    This and seeing the same dock people and many of the same drivers at some of the companies I go to weekly. Got me a box of E-track straps that someone left behind at a receiver a month ago.

    Its soo easy to have a positive attitude, and it can do so many good things for your own well being that its not worth it to have a bad one.

    I wish more folks spoke up in a positive tone. Asking or suggesting goes a long way with others, It's a small dang local world and will encounter them again in the very near future.

    1 LTL driver from a different carrier encounter often is a ansy very shady fella. Deserves everything that comes to him. Not the only to notice. Word spreads quickly. Many of us have a long time till retirement, It doesn't hurt to be friendly in the local world.

    Good post by the way. Courtesy goes a long way in this business. Wanted to ask have you had the opportunity to eat at Musketeers yet. Check that place out if you have some time.

    Mike that's cool to hear. Glad a fellow Pepsi driver treated you well. A hardworking food service guy knows another when he sees him- you're officially in the club (not that you weren't before but you know what I'm sayin…)

    be careful, you might end up a lifer in this food service thing ;-). Hey, it could be worse

    It sure is looking that way ha-ha! I don't really want to start over any more ha-ha!


    I was jealous though the Pepsi driver had a new International with a full blown Allison Automatic transmission. I climbed up to his truck to ask him if I was parked in an acceptable spot and he said "Yes sir everything is fine."

    Then I saw the little control pad and I said "Aww man dig that automatic transmission."
