    Hi guys,
Friday afternoon/night I took the star ship out on I-77 South Cleveland to Parkersburg, West Virginia to give it a little run and stretch it's legs. Plus I haven't been on I-77 in a long time. A lot of people don't like I-77 they think it's to rural. I've driven it a couple times, and yeah it's different then I-71 that's for sure, but what ever Fancy Gap in Virginia and the rest of it don't really scare me, of course I've never driven that area in a big truck, but that's coming. I know they have the truck run offs down there.

Anyhow interesting mix of trucks on different parts of the highway and interstate. Saw a lot of 10 wheelers (tank trucks) with real big tanks they were like dark red maroon Peterbuilts that said MARTEN (I think) on the side and were based out of Pennsylvania. Saw a lot of those on I-77 north not very far from Cambridge/Candez, Ohio. Also saw a big white Kenworth W700 or something like that a 10 wheeler with a similar tank that had Texas plates and had the name of some company and words Environmental Services all these big 10 wheelers (Tandem Axle straight trucks) had a metal plate on the side that said BRINE. My question is are these 10 wheeler tank trucks related to shale energy and fracking and oil and natural gas drilling? That's all I could think of.

Also saw a few Conway trucks running Friday night line haul pulling doubles Friday night line haul doesn't look like a bad gig, but I could be wrong on that. Saw some trucks from a company called United Dairy which I think is the parent company of Smiths Dairy of Orville, Ohio. Also saw two interesting Freightliner M2 10 wheelers with the bush beaters on the front and lift gates both heading south on I-77 near Parkersburg, West Virginia late in the 7pm hour for Uni Select Auto Parts. I guess Uni Select has a warehouse in Marietta, Ohio.

It's interesting the trucks you see on different sections of highway. Surprisingly though I didn't see a ton of big McMega Carrier trucks. Saw a lone US Foods truck all by it's self running a little late, Freightliner Cascadia single screw pulling a 28' trailer with barn doors. Which is kind of odd for them, but maybe not in that area because there probably just based at a drop lot. I know in Northeast, Ohio US Foods runs 36's 48's and 53's with a lot of lift gates and twin screw trucks and in the areas where they can't fit any of those Combination Vehicles they send a 10 wheeler, but we also have a big US Foods terminal here.

Certainly seemed that southeast, Ohio and West Virginia have an interesting mix of trucks and trucking jobs stuff I don't see very much up here. I-71 and I-76 those roads seem to get the bigger mix of McMega Carriers and dry van type trucks.
Any how I do find it interesting the different trucks and different carriers that inhibit different parts of the interstate and highway.

Are you talking people or trucks there Joe?

Mike I just rolled out I64 to I79 to Morganstown WV. Ran into a bunch of the tankers. Yep they are doing the frack gig, Well unless the bottom continues to drop out. There were other Oil field related trucks, Just didn't notice them so much Cause I spend way too much time in Texas.

I agree, they have some weird combination trucks out west.

By 10 wheelers, do you mean an 18 wheeler but instead of running duals on truck and trl, they have super singles all around? Thats what I call them anyways. I say, hey, thats a fancy 10 wheeler you got there.

    Mike2633 Thanks this.

To me a 10 wheeler is a straight truck with two axles in the back (10 wheelers) like a Greyhound Bus. I notice more and more 10 wheelers out on the road.
