My CH dog has decided to eat a fan switch about every 6 months. Always the same thing too. High speed wire overheated and switch breaks at blade connection.

All this despite a new motor and cage and a clean plentiful air flow.

You could say the wire is too small but its the factory wiring......... I just dunno.

    Got any ideas?

A poor ground or connection will cause power surges/heat. Double check the block to chassis ground strap. Sometimes corrosion can hide under the lug or the bolt is a hair loose.

Usually smaller wires energize a relay which connects the bigger wires together on long runs. Look under the hood for a relay panel.
