This is my first post on this site and was wondering if anyone has purchased a raney chrome bumper and what is your opinion of the quality? Thank you.

Excellent quality! I have a 20" box end on my cabover from them. I braced it at the bottom pretty tough cause I do alot of offroad and end up plowing alot of mud and gravel with my bumper. Had it on for 6 months n not a ding or chip in the chrome anywhere. I am very impressed!

If you're going to keep your truck you might want to rethink it a little bit. I put a bumper on my truck a few months ago...it was a valley so were crossing brands but $585 later I had a new bumper. For $700 I could've bought a stainless steel bumper. If you're going to keep your truck for a while, and care about keeping it pretty and shiny don't buy a chrome bumper. Go stainless. There is no comparison. Personally I would rather spend the money on something that's going to last a lifetime, that can be refinished after sanding and buffing, and look as good in 10 years as it did the day I put it on than have the headache of ripping my bumper off once a year and sending it off to be stripped and rechromed not to mention every time its rechromed the bumper is going to get thinner and after 2 rechromings you were better off buying a new chrome bumper. And after buying 2 bumpers and paying for the rechrome you could've bought 2 stainless bumpers.

I know chrome fairly well. My mom put in 30+ years at Lincoln industries. They do the bumpers, for paccar, been chroming for Harley for ages, and make aftermarket stacks. And now they're competing with valley making aftermarket bumpers. Sad thing is my valley is rusting already...and I'd still buy valley chrome over Lincoln chrome. What's that tell you? Sorry I'm just not a fan of chrome. Too much cost of ownership over the years. And I don't like dealing with rock chips and ripping bumpers off and putting them back on check into a roadworks stainless bumper. It'll cost a little more but it'll last a lot longer and look better for a lot longer. And you can restore it to new with about an hours worth of buffing and a wipe down with a high quality polish.

Very good thought 379exhd. Makes a lot of sense and the cost is not that much more. Thank you!
