01' CH 613 Vision...350 / 9 / 3.90 single axle sleeper with a tag with lift, shows 480k, original owner. Frame was stretched, fish plated for tag and bed. Flat bed is 27' and about B-condition on the wood deck. Truck needs a paint job too.
Truck has been sitting 2 years out in the open.....and started occasionally. I heard it start and run, sounds good. A/C is out, needs a cople of hundred in other cosmetics. Didn't drive it or see brakes.
I'll hit the easy stuff, it's gonna need 10 tires from sitting, a full service and a change of all boxes and a belt. A/C could go another grand depending. It also needs a couple of windshields. ( chips ) So we can see at least $1500 to get started and another 5 grand in tires in the first few months of operating.
Can you help me put a buy number on the unit?
Need help pricing a unit......

It's a Mack. You gotta see how much blow by you get when running the engine (how much oil you are gonna hafta add to the engine every week). Also, I am no mechanic, by any stretch, but I have heard you gotta get the oil tested to see if there is any coolant in it, and what kind of metals are in it. That can tell you if you will need a head gasket in the near future. Also, it helps to have the transmission fluid inspected to see if there are any metal shavings, which could mean a fail on the transmission.
I agree with Miss Jayhawk. A DOT inspection is not hard to pass, but unless you take the truck to a shop and get a full PM and inspection done, you could get an ugly surprise just when you are starting out on your business, which is the most critical time.
Getting a truck from a dealer means they will prolly back it up for a short period of time, which is just enough time for you to get up off the ground with this business.chalupa Thanks this.
