I've recently went to work for a limestone company that has 12 beat to hell Peterbilt 378s. They're in the process of replacing the whole fleet with Macks. The truck foreman was talking with us about the type of transmission we would like and even a Granite vs Pinnacle. I'm still getting over the initial shock of a company that would actually take a driver's preference into consideration. I'm also at a total loss of input because I've never been closer to a Mack than passing by one on the road. So maybe you Mack guys could give me some info. Mack pros/cons in general and Granite vs Pinnacle. Thanks in advance.

I drive 2013 granites in the oilfields of nd. Ours have 505hp 1700 ft lb mp8 engines. 13 speed maxitourque trans. I've hauled up to 120,000 lbs with it and it keeps right up with our c-15 equipped t-800's maybe out pulls them a little bit. (Macks have less than 100 k on them our kenworths are all over 700k). They are good off road and especially in mud. I can't get mine stuck lol.
Coins are extremely small day cab with everything in them (people net, printers, lunch boxes etc) the mack transmissions seem sticky and spongy to me compared to our Eaton's. It feels like they don't want to come out of gear easily. Could be normal for a new transmission though I've never drove a brand new semi though.
Far as pinnacle I've never driven one. Only driven visions before. Nothing impressive. Over all I think the granites are pretty good HD semi. Not as good as a t-800 but close

From what I'm gathering, they're gonna have Eaton transmissions and mp8 engines. They like their to have power. The Petes we're running now have C-15 475 Cats and 525 ISX Cummins.

That's the way to go. Like the mp8 don't like the maxi torque trans. Best mud truck I've driven out here hands down. Went through some muck last spring I never thought I would make it through. She bogged down but kept moving. Good power in the mp8 just revs a lot higher than a big cat

ive driven the axle forward pinnacle with the mp8. it was a good pulling motor. hated the transmission though. will say this I had the mp7 before that and hated it being we was always 90k+ but that mp8 would pull. but the downside the mp8 I had went through injector cups like no tomorrow. about every 30k miles it was going to Mack to get cups replaced.
