I am currently looking for a new truck and i am looking at 2010 Mack CXU613. Have heard there are some years to avoid with all the emission controls. Any input would be great. Just hoping this is not a problem year. Thanks

Ha ! mi chattera!
Uhm good question.......best I can tell you is to avoid the 427. It had a cam issue in the E-7. The MP 7 is out early too. I found one all done at 300k cause the jack a leg brothers tried to adjust the valves.......ended up passing after I priced a pull out.
The E7 has an oil pump design problem so if you got one of those with decent miles, yank the oil pump and put the retro in. It doesn't get enough oil to the valves. Mine broke the oil stick ( it was brazed on) so I ignored that and ordered a new one. ( stick) A week later the broke piece got up in the oil drive gear and took out the pump......which got the turbo a week after that. ( turbo ran dry when pump failed )
A bud runs the A/C 427 in a 04. It's had a lot of pollution control problems, sensor problems and wiring problems. But so does the E7......
I like the MP8...just can't afford one.
Good huntingtuek32 Thanks this. -
cam problems show up early on e7's most that are going to fail done have. there was a ton of updates on 04's so by now if its been updated their a fair motor. the turbo on those was the expensive and give problems. mp8 would be a great motor if the injector cups would hold up. also its really better to go scr motor than just the dpf. the urea help to keep the dpf cleaner other wise about every 100k dpf will need cleaned and that is just not only a mack either.
