Question on Mack sleepers

As far as current offerings that I know of, no.

 

Why would you want a Mack sleeper? It's like a bed in Guantanamo bay, driver.

True, I have always liked the newer Macks, but your right, no storage, limited lites, no cabinets, it's like sleeping in a closet.

 

I drive a 2013 pinnacle mid roof and have no problems, But I might stay out 1 night a week, once in a while 2 nights.
Also really liking the m-12 auto

 

As I said, I have driven both a new Pinnacle and a Granite, really liked the dash layout and the cab, but they really fall short on storage.

It really kind of surprises me being tied at the hip to Volvo, I would have thought some of that would have trickled down.

But I think that how a sleeper is depends on how it is spec'd. There is the one size fits all solutions and then there are custom options on what and how cabinets are done and the overall layout. Many folks don't really ask the tough questions of a dealer and demand to see all available options and ask questions. Brochures don't always show what is available. And dealers tend to get into a rut (primarily because most of what they do is with fleets) when it comes to laying out options with the customer. For instance, with the truck I ordered a couple of years ago (not a Mack), a cabinet with opening for TV was standard. I don't use a TV, as I watch everything on my laptop, so I told them to spec a different cabinet with solid door to provide more protected storage. No problem. Got what i wanted. Dealer looked at me goofy at first, only because all the fleets and everyone else order the TV cabinet. To me, a TV cabinet was so old fashioned and a waste of space for my wants and needs.

And it is disingenuous to quantify how Mack does sleepers based on what some fleet orders. I admit that other OEM's have the sleeper thing down better in some areas, but not sure Mack falls on its face in this area. I would like to see some Mack OEM sleeper setups that were custom ordered by individual owners before jumping on Mack too harshly.

 

I was at the Mack dealer in Ft Worth and the salesman swid somthing about Mack bringing back the 84 inch because Tyson foods wanted them on there trucks.
