I was driving I40 yesterday and east of Gallup in the center median, but heading westbound, was a Marten truck that had run into the middle of the highway between two guard rails and struck the bridge support so hard that the trailer was ripped apart and off the kingpin and split down the side, the truck was completely destroyed, and unrecognizable Any idea what happened to the driver? Is he possibly okay? This was one of the most horrific crashes i have ever seen the results of, any info?

Sounds like he may have fallen asleep. You question may be answered if you google it.
-
Hope the driver is okay

I've googled the hell out of it and cant come up with anything. Thought maybe someone in the company might know. I agree looked like he fell asleep, no skids, never slowed down. Shame.

Dang it...hes proly not with us anymore there was a very simmilar accident here in Cali north 99 just before Sacramento...no survivors.
-
surprised none of the local media hasn't reported that. Impossible to hide something like that
-
You may have to dig very hard to find any media story, as trucking accidents are so common the media no longer reports on any but the worst of the worst, and then only if there is spectacular visuals (fire, explosions, lots of carnage, etc), and reporting on it serves some unrelated political interest for someone running for (re)election who is also spending a lot on advertising. You may have to seriously dig to find any information on that specific accident. On a rare occasion, you might find information on the collision in the companies SMS profile details on the FMCSA web site a few months after the incident, but only if there was a citation issued or the wreck triggered an FMCSA carrier review.

I get email links from friends all over the country, telling me about wrecks, and the media is all over them like flies on stink. -
You won't believe it but it looks like the guy lived...
