marten trucks

I am goin to join the marten team in jan. And I was wondering what kind of trucks they have. I know they have Kenworth Freightshakers and Peterbuilts. But just wondering which models they have? And any tips on the road test as to what to look foward too will be helpful too.

We have the Freighliner Columbia(10 speed tranny), As well as the new Cascada, tranny unknown.
The KWT660(13 speed) And Peterbuilt 387's with the super 10 tranny. (all of differant colors)There are some older 379's but are being pulled out and traded in.

ALL trucks have apu's onboard. What other MAJOR Carrier can say that? other than our few day cabs, 1,600 tractors have them

Not sure now how they assign trucks now days, but 4 years ago, my oreintation class was asked what we wanted to be put in.
Some in my class were flown to where thier trucks were at. IE other company yards around the country. So don't be surprised if they say your catching a plane after oreintation. Just tell tell them you will need routed by the house to get your things.

Enjoy your time here. Don't let others who have never drivin with us, or think just because they work out of Missouri, they know how other companies really are. At least Marten Drivers aren't as stuck up, as others . or think that we ARE THE BEST.

I guess Marten has been doing something right, to of stayed in buisness since 1946

TNspeedy- I just went thru orientation this past week in Ga. and it was a breeze! Road test just take your time use ur signals, two hands on the wheel and get out and look b4 backing!! I got a 2007 Pete assigned to me and the rest of the drivers got Pete's,KW's and Freightshakers- they assigned the trucks so u get what they give you.
First day of orientation is a TON of paperwork!!! Don't drink alot of coffee or ANY energy drinks-they spike ur blood pressure-not good!! Good Luck!!

The backing test was easy-they have you back into any space you choose back at the yard, but the yard in Forest Park can be crowded!
