ive been reading up on maverick and saw that they have pretty intense physical tests. sounds like that may count me out but i figured id ask just in case.

at my current job, i broke my left ankle pretty bad a few years ago. long story short, the dr fused my ankle, so my foot has very limited range of motion. but i am in great shape, i have absolutely no issues driving or pushing the clutch, throwing around very heavy rolls of roofing material, climbing in and out of the back of end dumps, etc.

would they automatically count me out since there is such limited motion, or would i have the chance to prove that it doesnt slow me down?

also, my current employer will vouch for my ability and work ethic

Make sure you disclose it and ask them that up front. I do not think as long as you can do the job that it will matter. Drivers get hurt at Maverick and they put them back to work all the time as long as they can pass the physical.
    Good Luck!

I fractured my fibula a long time ago in a fight. I also have other injuries due to full contact fighting. Tell mav about all of your issues. (you do have to meet their standards tho) They appreciate and work with honesty. They do not tolerate deceit or anything you try to get away with. They will do the agility/ ability test to see if you are capable to do the job, but there is another reason why they record your range of motion and strength and flexibility. If you are injured on the job (flatbed) they will know when you are 100 % back to your old self. As other wise stated in another post if you get hurt maverick will put you up in their hotel. You will work on the yard; shuttle van, make coffee, odd jobs etc. While they pay you. You can go home on the weekends if you want. They do that until you finish your rehab or whatever is wrong. Then you will take another test until you are back to normal at which time they will release you back to full duty.

check your range of motion, heart rate, picking up weights, putting tarps on trailers, climbing on and off trailers.

Thanks Sewerman! I finally made it to Little Rock. The Greyhound bus ride was in a world of it's on. A buddy of mine had to rent a car to drive out here because his bus wasn't going to pick him up in Nashville, Tn until 1900 Sat. night; which would have put him here in Little Rock around 0200-0300. But we were blessed and we made it here safe and sound!
