Yup yup, a "w/a" is a work assignment. Basically it means your next load. All the info you need for the next load is on there. Good question.

What-what? I don't understand. I made my delivery and sent my empty macro. I'm waiting, so I notify my FM that I'm gonna go get my truck washed, trying to take advantage of some down time. Any who, as soon as I get to the Beacon, poof, there's my next w/a. A deadhead back to Laurinburg. I sent my eta of 1300 on the 5/18. While I'm enroute, I get
another message stating no load until monday. Joy. I get to do my reset at the dustbowl. Im beginning to think that only the trainers get the good loads, and stay hot hot hot busy. Thats the same tactic that TMC uses. no -
Allllrighty then, here I sit, in laurinburg, watching it rain. But hey, on a positive note, its not a dust bowl today. I had an opportunity to go through the house, but I didn't take it and I will explain why I didn't. If I went home, it would have thrown my oor miles up, I would only have been home for around 24 hrs, and I would have to run recaps next week. So instead, I chose to go to Laurinburg and get a reset. This keeps my oor low, and gives me a fresh clock on Monday am, while I'm waiting for a load. It was my weekend to be out anyhow. I hope I made the right choice. I cut my hair, showered, and did laundry, while watching the Reds stomp the Phillies!
Kutina Thanks this. -

Alrighty, had a long, late load last night. I was in the load bay from 1630-0030. That's a long time, ya gotta love union workers. Any who, got finished, went back to the terminal for some food and a shower. My food was OK, cause I provided it. However, there was zero hot water left in the showers. I was desperate, so I took a cold shower. Let's just say it wasn't fun, and we'll leave it at that. So, on my way to Minnesota, for a Wednesday delivery. Yall be safe. Stay in the "right" lane.

New to this and trying to wrap my head around it. Starting my CDL next week and am looking at Maverick, do you get paid to "dead head" I'm assuming your driving without a load??
-
Maverick pays for all miles, same rate deadhead and loaded. Remember that your miles are calculated from zip code to zip code, not actual miles. But that's not specific to Maverick, almost all companies do that.
-
Thanks! Maybe I'll hear back in few days from the recruiting dept.
