I would think the trucks dont come standard with them lol. Do they work pretty good in a truck? Is there anything I should watch out for when selecting a radio to use with XM or Sirrius?

This last one I bought has rewind and fast forward features as well as a remote control. I love to drive to strictly music, no dj's talking about their personal life all the time. So what I can do is turn it on and let it run 24 hours a day on a music channel. Time to drive, rewind back 60 minutes and hear pure music, anyone talking, just fast forward to the next song. Good song comes on, I can rewind it up to 60 minutes. I can save a bunch of favorite songs in memory, even if I'm on channel x it will alert me my fave artist or song is on channel y if I want I can change to that. Best thing is being in sleeper, being able to turn volume up/down and change channels remotely.

I have one in my truck, it's the one you can get a pilot with the knob on it. It rewinds and fast forwards and all that good stuff. I got one of the aftermarket antennas and have it bolted in above the passenger window where those two mirror bolts are. Works pretty well.

Is that an xm radio? What model is it? I would like the option where it alerts you when a favorite song comes on another channel.

Where did you get your mount for the passenger door? I was thinking about doing the same thing.

Make sure to look at the difference on channels from xm and serous.
    My company pays for xm.
Xm don't get nascar. Unless you spring for a additional fee.

I just bolted it directly in, no special mount. I bolted it using one of the holes on the plate that's attached to the antenna, just tightened it down and that's all there was to it.

Sirius and XM merged a while ago. It's all the same company now. It's all different packages. The package with every station is like $200 a year.

I use the SiriusXm Edge. The unit cost me $150 at Best Buy. I've had it for about a year and a half now. Had to return the first one after a couple months because the vibration in the truck killed it. This one has worked since then. My radio is mounted with a suction cup mount on the windshield.

For the antenna I just use the little magnetic one included with it. The Antenna is attached to the bracket holding on the top of the passenger side cab fairing since that seems to be the only piece of steel more than 3 feet off the ground on my truck. The cable runs down the back of the cab, under the cab, and in through the passenger door.

    camaro68 Thanks this.
