I know maverick looks at last three years of employment history. I was wondering what Maverick considers a stable work history. One recruiter says a year another year and a half. Thanks in advance.
stable job history

If I recall correctly, (I may be totally wrong), federal regulations require that companies have a full 10 year work history of the drivers that they hire, regardless of whether or not they were driving for a living.
Come 4/17/2014, I will have 7 years at my current job. Providing that I do NOT get laid off or terminated, I will have a full 10 year work history at my current job 4/17/2017, another 3 to 3.5 years to go. Little by little, I am getting there.
Due to circumstances, I had 7 months of UNVERIFIABLE UNEMPLOYMENT from 9/17/2006 to 4/16/2007. In 2006, I had to leave Wichita KS to go back to the east coast to help my 2 sisters care for our elderly mother, before she had passed away in 2007, a year later. In the mean time time, I was out of work for 7 months.
Once I am able to get a full 10 year work history, I (HOPEFULLY) will NOT have to worry about justifying those 7 months of UNVERIFIABLE UNEMPLOYMENT. Afterwards, I hope to be able to start "on the road" to possibly becoming a truck driver. I am also in the process of cleaning up my MVR and trying to get my health in order to be able to pass the D.O.T. physical.

pattyj Thanks this. -
why would the federal regulations require 10 years ? that just seems like a company thing to me

The FMCSA requires 10 years of commercial driving history be obtained by an employer, not all job history. Job history other then commercial driving history is up to the employer.

Yea I dont have any driving history. Some companies like schneider and conway will ask about 10 years employment history however Maverick is just interested in past 3 non driving. Specifically I was asking how many of those three years must one work at one job before applying at maverick? After getting a year employment I called Maverick recruiter who initially said one year is needed. Later that same recruiter called back saying 16 months continuous employment at same job.

so if i was laid off after only 11 months from my last job and spent the past year unemployed i have no chance of being hired with maverick? they were on the top of my list, and i'm hopefully going to be enrolling in cdl school soon. my employment history prior to that is stable with only 2 other jobs which i was at each of them for almost 3 years.

you would think company's would take into consideration lay offs and how the economy is

I don't have much to worry about, but I'm almost 21 - in a month, I will be. I've worked at one job since I was 17; so, 3 years. I picked up a second job during those 3 years, for 1 year. I then moved, and have been working under-the-table as a farm hand for almost 6 months. Employment verification of that I could obtain. Do you think I am in jeopardy for my short job history, due to my age?? Thanks.

hauntedschizo just call maverick and ask them
