I've never been lazy enough to walk on the grass if there is an available path, so don't think that will be a problem. Haha. DO have a question since you offered (I will research more as well.) On the site it ways students get paid $550 in finishing school? How exactly does the pay during training work? Let's assume I've just graduated from a driving school and have my CDL, I've applied for Maverick and my Orientation starts next Monday (or Sunday as I've read.) When do I start receiving any income at all from them(training pay, anything)? Any info is much appreciated.

You start getting paid the day you show up. You start on Sunday and your first check will be on Friday 12 days later

Awesome. Thanks for the quick reply. It starts out at like $400 something during training, then jumps to $500 something after like 4 weeks right? Or am I way off? Sorry for the nit pick questions, just really interested in this company. Wanna know as much as I can before "signing on the dotted line." Speaking of which, do I need to sign a "minimum commitment" contract or anything?

1st week is $500. Then $550 a week until you get your own truck and get mileage pay

Thanks again! Anything else you can offer or recommend? I'm looking at flatbed, but will probably lean towards Temp Control. And do you drive for them or do you know this info from an employee? Just curious, because if it's possible to say someone referred me (if they get a kick back), I'm willing to do so for a few folks that have helped me out.

I went through orientation a few weeks ago and now I am with my road trainer.

1 week of orientation/paperwork/physical.
Then job offers on Thursday.
Flatbed guys get a week of securement/tarp training and then head out for 3-5 weeks with their road trainer.
TCD guys have 2 days of training after their job offers and then head out with their road trainers.
TCD guys stay out for 3 weeks at a time after they get in their own trucks.
Do not refer to TCD division as reefer. They don't like that term at maverick -
just curious wut they do if you do refer to it as reefer
-
They tell you to call it TCD or temperature control division
-
Based on how I've read they run their company (very family oriented) I'd just not worry about it, probably best that way. Haha. I'm sure you can use refrigerated, but TCD is a bit quicker and easier. I'd assume the old faithful line of "...Up to and Including Termination..." will fit in somewhere.
