    Very seriously considering getting on with Maverick around January of next year. Glass hauling sounds good, trucks sound good, dispatch system & miles sound good.

    I already do flat-bedding locally, and I'm also a garbage man for the same company 3 days a week. I'm in pretty ###### good physical condition between the flat-bedding and tossing 18,000 lb's of garbage into the back of the truck a week, as well as jumping in & out of the truck about 3,000 times a week.

    I was just reading about orientation an such when I stumbled on this thread, and was pleasantly surprised to find an in depth overview of the whole hiring process.

    This in particular, gave me a little bit to worry about;

    My joints have always cracked/popped. I can't control it, obviously. With the extreme amount of physical exertion I go through, every week, they are doing it more than ever. I've chalked this up to exaggerated use, it doesn't hurt- I have literally no pain in any of my joints, even after working a very hard 10-14 hours.

    How seriously does Maverick take joints cracking and popping? Because this could be a deal breaker if they're going to refuse me for my knees popping:biggrin_25517:

    You should be fine as long as you have full range of motion. They may ask you about it but I
    had some popping and what not and it was not an issue.

    I figured this would be the case, seems like such a small thing to nitpick. Any ideas on why they're concerned on the joints clicking? Physicals are such a PITA. I'm so glad I'm in shape again, being a garbageman sucks; but it will get you to loose weight- like it or not.

    I'm in the same boat, my knees have always popped (thanks, U.S. Army!) and am curious as to what they will say to someone who has this issue with the popping of their joints.

    If there's one thing the military is good at, it's making sure arthritis is a definitive assurance in your elder years.

    I would say it is part to cover their ### and part to make sure you can physically do the job. If you have trouble with the physical you will have troubles doing the job.
