Trainer has been assigned

Just finished load securement training today and was assigned my road trainer. He lives only 49 miles from my home so I am happy. Several guys not too happy about their assignment and are thinking of quitting. I don't get that they would quit just over a few weeks away from home but each to his own. I was fully prepared for my trainer to live far away and would have dealt with it.

 

Still waiting at the Maverick Hotel. Trainer delivering in Illinois somewhere tomorrow morning. I'm told to expect an update tomorrow morning.

 

My trainer is delayed this weekend so I've been transferred to the Galloway Inn for the weekend. Trainer should hopefully arrive Monday or Tuesday. I volunteered to pick up a student tomorrow just so I'd have something to do.

 

Finally left out this morning with my trainer. The Galloway Inn was getting rather boring. My trainer is a nice guy, I think we will get along just fine. He drove from Little Rock to West Memphis where we stopped at a Pilot to fuel. I then drove from there for 341 miles and we are currently at a a Pilot about 11 miles south of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. We have a load of greybar going to Georgetown, Kentucky by 8:00am tomorrow. All is well. My trainer says I'm doing great for my first day.

There was a breakdown at this steel factory and they are not able to use the Graybar so they have no room to take the Graybar we have so we have to wait and see what is gonna happen. Guys have been here since yesterday afternoon waiting. Hopefully we won't have to wait so long.
