I got the call from the recruiter this morning to be in Little Rock. Will arrive Saturday afternoon. If anyone has any advise on what to pack or what to expect when i get there, it would be helpful.

They should have told you what to bring.
    Motor Carriers Atlas
    clothes for probably 2 weeks
    bedding
    toiletries
    steel toe boots

    STAY OFF THE GRASS.

listen to everything, take notes, DO NOT BE LATE, pay attention especially on Monday when you are doing the abilities test.
3 points of contact, face the truck while climbing in and out. Use both tarps if needed to assist getting on the box.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the info. They did tell me what to bring. They didn't tell me to bring a rain suit but thought I would take it anyway. While in driving school we worked in the rain. I was just wondering if there was something else that they didn't include.

You won't need a rain suit during orientation or business unit training but will be helpful when you go out with your trainer. One bit of advice, on Monday they do the urine drug test first thing. Don't go first unless you really have to go bad. They have to get a good half cup or so or you will be given 3 hours to drink and try again. My advice, just get towards the end of the line and drink something and you should be okay. Also, pay close attention to directions, and do whatever they say with a good attitude. Good luck and take care!

Seriously do stay off the grass though. One guy after he got his offer on Friday thought it was funny to go sprinting across the grass. He got the ride home that very day I believe. One thing I suggest to bring which helped me when I was securing or checking my truck/trailer at night is a good Maglight. And I mean the aluminum ones. Good for seeing and good for whacking things/people if it comes to that.

stay away from any group that is having a discussion that ANYONE could deem as "offensive." There are eyes and ears on you at all times. You do not want to participate in anything that would cast you in the light of one who is not an upstanding citizen. And the "stay off the grass" thing.... is a test to see if you can/will follow the most basic of instruction- or will you "cut corners" when nobody is looking. Yeah, they pay good money to keep up the terminals landscaping yeah yeah, but the underlying reason is to see if you can be trusted out here.
