You are the 2nd driver who has said this.... I guess I don't understand how 2 divisions within the same company could be so different. I would think "specialized" would be getting more miles, more income due to being OTR v. regional... They are supposed to call me Monday, so I'll bring this up, that's for certain. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

Reason is, Maverick bought out the specialized side of Schneider. And with it they brought there trucks, drivers terminals etc. Not sure of management but sure they werent all maverick. So the company takes care of its core, flatbed, and just is trying to make the specialized work out. Can tell you this, if hometime is something for you, flatbeds get home more than specialized.

:biggrin_25525: Hey notarps seem like you got all the answer's man.. So ima jump in and see can i get a couple questions replied to... lol.. I was looking forward to that getting home every wkend policy, but u had told me once before that with me staying in MS would be a good traffic lane. And i call and talk to someone and they said the same thing. The catch is... dang!!! Stay to far south in MS almost on the coast line (Fayette/Nacthez all thats south of Jackson) But anyway, they would like me to stay out for two weeks, this would be conside long haul right??
Far as the divisions ( do they add more states to the long haul) or is just to time away from home be extended? For example is you run just 20-28 states would i run more or would it be the same jus out longer??
Sorry if it seem like am going over over over with the same thing.... Peace!!:biggrin_25515:

Only thing available that far south is Long Haul which runs 48 states, out 2-3weeks, want have to go out with a trainer if have more than 6months OTR.... Hope this help anyone else thats down in the bottom like me lol... Be Safe Drivers...

Notarps, do you know what Maverick's policy is on unemployment on the background checks? I am in cdl school now and am sending Maverick the release forms to start their checks. I have heard several students going with other companies (Pam, Decker) that they were rejected because of their unemployment history. I recently was unemployed for about 3 months and had a job for 5 years before that. That wouldn't stop me from being hired, would it? Thanks.

Hey mack i had that same issue on my mind.. But i'm not sure but that little time should've have an affect on you cause she told me that a requirement of the hiring process job stablity,etc... So just commenting on your post but it would'nt hurt to find out more.. You can use that 3months seeking a decent OTR on making a right decision...Take it easy and have fun doing it...:biggrin_25515:
