They kind of frowned on it. They asked what my handle was. I told them that maverick won't like it. They said you can't have an offensive handle. I told them it ain't offensive, but I go by notarps!:biggrin_25523: They said they will make me out to be a liar!:biggrin_25523: They did! Everyone knows the monkey. I have that handle on several boards. Had that name for years, can't change now! Wife told me to go by monkey man!:biggrin_25523:

Steve, I have seen you on other boards. Where are you from? I will PM you, but you don't have enough post to pm yet. I drive for maverick as well.

I've read your some of your other posts monkey man. Yes tarps indeed. I'm trying to figure out what type of trailer I want to pull. I do like the idea of securing and tarpping my own load, I stay active durring the week @ home jogging, walking, sit-ups, push-ups. I was considering Roehl Skateboard, but one driver suggested that driving for a company that is exclusive to boards would be a good route. Are you regional? How often are you home, how many miles do you run? What can a rookie OTR & Flatbedder make his first year? Just curious. 40 something? I don't mind the work. :biggrin_2558:

hi, i have a question for notarps4me, or anyone else that works for maverick. i got a call today from paul a recruiter for mav. and he told me my application had been approved. i asked him about the inverter policy and he stated that he thought it was a 1000 watt minimum, and they install it for $150.00 could someone please confirm this, he didnt sound sure. and he also stated that because of where i live, that i might only get home every 3 weeks. can this be true? i live in opelika, al. , i thought i might be home every other weekend, maybe sometimes a couple in a row. maybe im asking to much.

It is true about the inverter. It is a one time fee. Everytime you switch trucks after that they will put it in free of charge. I don't use a invertor. The longest any division is out as far as I know is long haul or glass and they run 2 weeks. I am in the US Div and I am home every weekend.

there are more than two divisions. U.S. I would say has the most people working it. but there is also northeast and southwest. Northeast is referred to as RAT division. I have a hard time keeping up with it because Im in one division and Im sure something about these divisions will change shortly. Where you live is important if you want to get home every weekend. You need to be in a place that has a lot of freight in every direction because if you do not have a load that happens to get you within 150 miles out of route, then you cant go home (sometimes your fleet manager will let you if its not too bad). You have black and white, then there is the gray area. I can help with the black and white, but there is some gray area in a lot of things, weekend loads and going home has its gray area. If there is anything else I can answer to help let me know. BOL steve
