I got a call last week to report to orientation, but I decided to go elsewhere for now. Good luck to anyone currently on the waiting list!

 

how long were you on that waiting list? did you have your cdl before you applied?
one last thing. were you going into the specialized division?

 

The Recruiting Department was very professional during my brief dealings with them. I'm not sure how long you have been waiting, but if they give you a possible wait time, i.e. 4 weeks, 6 weeks, it will probably be 5 weeks before you are called to report. Student drivers should apply several weeks prior to completing their program...IMHO.

 

been about 3 weeks or so since they said i was approved and on the waiting. i already have my cdl and haul corn/beans.

 

I swear,once I think I have eveything lined out I get set back.If I can I guess I'm going to start school on March 4 instead of Feb 4. We still haven't got our W-2's from work, so there is no way I will have my tax return in time to have it in the bank so we can survive for 4 weeks. Hopefully Mav doesn't call me halfway through school saying there ready for me. They probably will, knowing my luck. Hopefully I can get everything lined out

 

yea kaydriver i know where your comming from. i live under murphy's law. you know "whatever can go wrong will" . i wish you luck bro. if it wasn't for bad luck i'd have no luck at all!!!

Start school in 2 weeks and looking forward to it. I am going to a independent school to get my CDL but already have my paperwork rolling with the recruiting dept at Maverick. Angie is my recruiter and she is very helpful. I had thought about TMC and McElroy but seems like Maverick is where my gut feeling led me. I have read this entire post and see you guys have proven this a good company to work for and also given me a lot of good information.

She did say it was a small wait but did not specify. I am NOT EVEN thinking of the Spec. Div. I am willing to wait cause I am getting my school on my own time so I am still employed at the present. She sent more info today asking if it was ok to contact both of my employers so she is moving it right along.

 

Hey Catfish sounds like youre in the same kind of situation I'm in. Angie is my recruiter too. I wouldn't say it's a small wait!lol Do you have to quit youre job in order to go to school? I do, and it scares the hell out of me but that's why I'm waiting for my tax returns. Keep us informed on your progress, and good luck to you.
