Would appreciate thoughts on which carrier would be the best choice for someone returning to trucking. I have an open mind and realistic (I think) expectations for my first year. I would like to get 2500 - 3000 miles per week ideally, really targeting 10,000 per month. I'm good with staying out 3 weeks to do that, but want some home time after being on the road for 21 days straight.
From what I have read Maverick seems like the best choice after you get through their hiring process, I'm in pretty good shape so that does not worry me as much as it may worry others. Each expects you to be with a trainer for 4-5 weeks and I'm OK with that, my real concern is the miles once I am solo.
Thanks for your help!

We are averaging 2200 to 2400 miles per week. You will be out with the road instructor a minimum of three weeks. Maverick does not take any short cuts and has always done right by me for 5 years. I pulled flat so can not comment on the TCD specifically. But it is a great company.
Best of luck where ever you go! -

I've been with Maverick for about 6 months pulling flatbed. I stay out about 3 weeks at a time and have no problem getting 3-4 days home time between runs, you just have to make a special request and specify the time you want off. They have gotten me home every time I've needed or wanted to be home. My miles are easily 2500 or more miles when I'm out for a full week, will be less when I've got a short week because I've gone home. 3 weeks shy of 6 months I've run 52,000 miles, so that should give you an idea. Good luck and God bless!
