    As long as you did not let your cdl expire you might be ok. Just like pjw044 said, call and ask. The number for the Layton, UT terminal is 1-800-251-8846.

    I had a student that drove for May back in '08 that let his cdl expire. He was told he had to go back to a school. He could not take a refresher either. I thought that was a bit much, but I don't make the rules either.

    Yeah my CDL is still good til 2014. Thanks, I will have to give them a call. Is there a lot of freight going through Salt Lake. I like to get through here if even its just over night.

    Fair amount of freight going in and out of SLC...alot of Refer
    loads seem to head that way.....

    Thats good to hear. I was thinking of doing the refer division since it does 48 state and would seem to get more miles. I was going to go with them before I went to W/S, which is a good starter company as well. Do they do any training out of Layton or would I have to go to Denver

    May has a lot of freight go through the Layton yard, dry and refer. Since it is on the 15, you will stop there quite a bit. They train out of Layton as well.

    So do the trucks have APU's to run the heat and a/c while the truck is turned off, as well as your tv, micro and others.

    Unfortunately we do not have apu's. If I am stopped somewhere in the summer that is excessively hot or humid, I idle. Then in the morning I submit an idle request. Most of the time it gets approved. In the winter May has their trucks equipped with bunk heaters. The heater I had in my Pete 387, just barely turned on, put out plenty of heat to be comfortable.

    I have a 1500 watt inverter with a fridge/freezer combo that has a separate door for the freezer. Got it at target. I also have a microwave and my laptop. The batteries stay charged enough over night and into the next day without having to idle or turn off/unplug the fridge.

    Well I have been spoiled with an APU with my last company and when in CA or OR it was really nice to have to keep cool and keep the batteries from dying since they don't allow idiling for more than 5 minutes.. Do they swap you out from Dry Van to Refer when there is a load needed out?

    I am on the refer side and I have occasionaly taken a dry load. Just all depends on the area you are in and what freight there is. It doesn't bother me much honestly. Sometimes it is nice to not have a refer running at night.

    I had to do both at my previous company. Sounds like a pretty good company. I will have to send in my app and get started. I do miss being on the road. How are the miles so far this year? Thanks for answering my questions.
