I have been averaging 3k-3.5k a week. I have yet to wait more than 6 hours for a load since mid December last year. It definitely helps to have a great relationship with your DM.

Well I just applied for May. I will give them a call on Monday to make sure they have my app and see what else I need to do to get going. Sounds like a good company to get going with. I know not every one has the same experience but I just hope I they can provide me with a safe working truck and some miles and I will be happy.

Good luck I wish you the best, May was my 2nd choice. Had they not made you go with a trainer I may be there I was really torn between them and the company I am with now not going to mention it here out of respect to the thread.

I couldn't find anything on their website that tells how much family insurance will cost. If the price is right I might apply. I will have my year in next month. :)

being a new driver-to-be i've always wondered how they issue trucks, i've heard the greenhorns get Pete 379's at the start, do they ask you if you have a preference or is it what i'm thinking and they say, "this is your truck, have a good one" not that it really matters, i'll be happy with anything May gives me as long as it works properly and gets the loads where they need to go. i'm hoping to eventually get into a Cascadia though.

How long does trainging usually take with may, i've heard 3days orientation and usually about 2 weeks with a trainer depending on your skills, sound about right?

    thanks for posting!

May is getting rid of the 379's for company drivers. More than
likely you will get either a Pete 387 or Cascadia...Possible also
is a Intl' Prostar.............As far as training goes it is up to your trainer and YOUR skill level...I've heard of some people soloing
out in a week. Or it could take longer, just depends......Orientation
    is 3 days, long,boring days.

Yeah that is right! Fontana, CA is leased space several of them are actually. All the OWNED facilities are dirt for a reason. The taxes are different when the property is registered as farm land for tractors. :) as I understand it!

Yeah a APU would be nice but is not cost effective May does not keep there trucks long enough to offset the cost of the units them self. Several companies have wasted or nearly been put out of business refab'ing APU's to meet EPA regs when they change. (darn carb) It just doesn't make sense until the price point comes down!
