What are the pros and cons to working with may trucking? Is there a better choice????
What are the pros and cons to working with may trucking????? What company/companies would be better to work for that a 21 year old qualifies for? and why? (rhoel, con-way, usxpress, covenant, etc.)

May will be better than Covenant, Stevens, or England because they aren't so refined in the art of stealing from the driver. They have decent equipment and some dispatching is good. They have thoughtful orientation and training that is not too long before truck assignment. I learned the basics from May, but none of these big fleet company jobs pays a living wage as far as I can tell, so after 6 months I moved on.

Well, I concede that the pay at May is lower than the smaller companies out there, but better than the giant companies... However, my last 2 months have netted me almost $8k, so "no pay May" isn't exactly true... It's a great place to start, after that, you'll figure out what you need to do...

Really? I have paid off one Truck at May.. and my weekly pay (After all my expenses) is at least $1,500 (This week was $2,887) ... Even Company drivers make a decent buck for an entry level company ...
Those that complain about MAY and then go else where, soon find the same ongoing trucking problems. And I am amazed how many come back to MAY!

I did great at May for most of my 2 years there... when the frieght was available. Slow weeks were slow, and I did my share of sitting on those... nothing to be done about it. Helped me improve my reading ability, at least!

Well scratch this company. From the way Ive already been talked to and treated by May, AND IM NOT EVEN AN EMPLOYEE OF THEIRS YET, I wouldn't work there if they were the last ##### company out there. Lemme just say this ... THEY ARE NOT AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER, AND MILITARY VETERAN UNFRIENDLY.
