gary orientation

    Well I start orientation at the Gary terminal this morning at 8. I'm realy excited to start working for may. One of my instructors from school used to work for them and had nothing but good things to say about them. I probaly should be sleeping but I went to bed to early and now here I am wide awake haha. Might just be the excitement who knows. Only thing I'm worried about is it being in Gary. Being that I'm from Indiana I've heard some stories about that town and they aren't good ones.

    you'll be fine. Gary indiana itself, yeah... its rated, or was, like one of the top murder cities in the US lol I was surprised when i heard that also until i went there to get fuel... then i understood. Where the house is (they call it a terminal but i know better) seems ok but I wouldn't go wandering around at night lol

    No you shouldn't go wandering around there at night. Then again, I felt the same way when I was at the Pilot TS. I never felt safe just walking from the truck to the RR at night when I was there.

    Day one is done, started with only 3 people in orientation and now down to just two, didn't do a whole lot today just urine test, backing skills, and road test. First time driving a 13 speed and I have to say I like it a lot better than the 10 speeds my school had. Tomorrow is nothin but classroom work then I guess I'm getting put with a trainer Thursday.
