Sup guys , its been going great we have a good size class and most of the guys are from california ayways this is how it goes day 1......... You show up first thing first , drug test next will be the nice n thight skill test it easy and simple, a good pointer to the success of passing this test is "keep as far left as posible while making your turns and youll be fine . Ok its a horse shoe shape with two right turns , a straight backing, and a 45 dock backing simple take your time and GOAL(get out and look) . Next we have the road test yes its a 13 speed but you dont have to split the higher gears so it as simple as shifting a 8 speed. next we take our break and they take you out to eat (real nice place) . Last we did our paper work , regulations tax forms and stuff like that and that is it ..... Day 2 ok today we had to read a regulations book. It explains about rules and all sorts of stuff like what to do in case of accidents policy and that type of stuff ...and our drug test results got in so we are all good and that is it for day two ill post you guys with day 3 tomorrow take it easy and be safe ......

Bigdogg, did you have to talk though a pretrip inspection before the driving test, or incab inspection with brake checks?
-
when I went thru orientation, out of denver, we all went over doing an inspection but we were never actually tested on it

In Denver, they did implement a pre-trip type test when you solo out. The safety guy would sabotage the truck and trailer and have you do a pretrip to catch the things he did.

I'm nervous about the alley dock, in school I only did it a few times with the instructor coaching, I hope I can do it by myself. And for the licensing test we were allowed to miss a few points and still pass if we didn't park perfect. I assume for May we have to do it perfect?
I go to orientation in Denver on the 18th. -
You can look at the skills course right here May Trucking Skills Course
It's section in the upper right hand corner. You can view the horseshoe , straight and 45 back sections on the photo.Mousemaker Thanks this. -
you dont have to do anything perfect. they know you're a student, they want to make sure you are being careful, getting out when you need to and checking the space around you. you can take as long as you want, get out as many times as you want. they dont want you to just back that sucker up like you know what you're doing without checking.
and you aren't fully hired until you solo out ^.^
when i went thru orientation we drove it like an 8 speed, didn't use all 13 until after coming back to solo outMousemaker Thanks this.
