    2009_03_volvo-i-shift-thumb.jpg When I worked for May I think I only used the low gear once and that was to try and pull out of parking lot pothole ;-)

    I drive a Volvo with an iShift automatic now, otherwise known as a lazy man trucker now.

    I mean, just look at this pic ;-)

    So 18 speed is the same as 13 in regards to the high low range selector only difference all 18 speeds can be split.

    Well, I can tell you this much, as far as I'm concerned I don't care to ever go back to shifting gears again. It's not all it's cracked up to be, especially in rush hour traffic.

    Im in an automatic, older one, I hate it, doesnt shift smoothly sometimes, i have to throw it into manual and shift it myself

    Mine shifts as smooth as glass. No way I could shift manually the way the computer shifts mine. The thing I have to watch out for is taking off and raising the rpm's up too high, when I do that it delays the shift. However, like you I can switch to manual and shift to my hearts desire. Really wears my right thumb out though ;-)
