Well ill tell you what buddy as long as you understand that you're going to be gone 3 weeks at a time youll do fine so if thats going to be a problem stay away from may thats why alot of drivers fail otr

You're absolutely correct about that, Paloma, fuel mileage- and, therefore your speed, is their #1 concern. Not getting to your consignee on time- That's totally secondary. Their almost maniacal obsession with my "speeding" was intolerable to me. Add to that the Paccar MX13 that's under the hood has a non existent engine brake- Peterbilt mechs flat out said it was "not a Jake", and I was constantly- constantly- riding the brake. (ok, not "constantly", obviously I downshifted but even then, Kermit insisted on not taking it over 1500). So I ride the brake...and brake...and brake...

It's a shame, really, because overall, they're not a bad starter co. I could have done a lot worse. Their CSA is good, you blow by most scales, their trucks are well maintained...but this kind of intrusion with the Zonar is right out of Brave New World. Their total faith in the infallibility of this tracking system is what really bothers me. My word means nothing. They don't trust YOU.

But that's ok. We drivers have choice: We don't have to work for co's like that. And I don't anymore. It was good experience for the most part, but I'm movin' on.
