Hmmmm....did you start by reading through all of the threads listed here in the May Trucking thread?

It's also interesting to me how that someone asks about a particular company, like May Trucking in this case, then the posts end up being about some other companies ;-)

    How does that work again?

dont think so, think he was saying they hire out of NJ, not sure if he meant may or melton. in general may didnt allow you to take trucks home, which is why their hiring area isn't all that wide, but they have hired people in areas that they didnt have a terminal (think a few people on the boards lived in atlanta, closest terminal being in pensacola), assuming they have some kinda special circumstance worked out with them to get them home

guess melton is hurting for people... then again most those bigger carriers usually are, arent they... especially this time of year

Interesting! I spoke with a recruiter at May just a couple of days ago. Asked about hometime and she said that I would "just take the truck home". Now I am confused!

might have changed, most of us are prior employees but in general they did not hire people with the understanding that they were allowed to just take the truck home. but like i said there are some people that were hired outside range of terminals, i dont know what arrangements they had, scooter would know better i think he mentioned a long time ago about having to get places authorized or something

Maybe that was an exception since I am about 225 miles from the nearest terminal. But, while you're around, how was the equipment? Were the trucks nice? Were they single or double bunks?

The only thing I miss about May is the nice trucks, especially the 13 speed trannys.
