Okay, first let me say I KNOW this is a needle in a haystack kind of thing...but I've really run out of other ideas..It just occurred to me to reach out on TTR and see if I might get lucky.

Last month, I scheduled some "home-time" 200 miles from the Colton CA yard. Had a rental car reservation waiting, and intended to take the courtesy shuttle (Avis's, not ours) to Avis to pick it up. About 100 miles out, I get a message on my driver tech informing me that the Colton yard is closed and the new yard is in Fontana...no big deal. I get to the Fontana yard and discover that I am now out of the "pick up" range for AVIS. OK, I'll take the USX courtesy van then...well, surprise surprise....USX has done away with the van after the move.

There was a May driver in the lounge, I got to talking to him, found out he was heading east and he was kind enough to drop me at the exit the rental place was at. I walked down, rented the car, got back to the yard and discovered that I was locked out of my truck. My keys fell out of my pocket in his truck.... I tried seeing if the guard could identify the driver, or truck number that had left earlier. But we didn't have any luck...

I never bothered to get his truck number. Have no way of figuring out who he was other than the bits of information we exchanged during the 20 minute ride.

I'm hoping, really hoping that maybe, I'll get lucky and someone on here will know who he is based on what little information I do have, and its very little.

The key itself is not the big deal...but silly as it sounds, the key chains attached to that key have significant and enormous sentimental value to me.

He introduced himself as Robert (99% positive), could have been Roger, but I'm pretty sure it was Robert.

Lives in Salem, Or. Has driven for May for 7 years, and used to drive for Crete.

Has a female dispatcher, who was frankly...not very nice. Overheard his loaded call...

Doesn't smoke and usually has a small dog on the truck. Dog was with his wife.

Usually runs up and down the West Coast only.

I'd estimate mid 50's possible early 60's, his wife normally rides with him, but was at home for holiday preparations. I'm estimating his age because he said they've been married for nearly 17 years and it was a 2nd marriage.

Shoulder length white/grey curly hair. VERY thick glasses. So thick in fact that they were very memorable. Not to be unkind but I can think of no other way to describe them other than "coke bottle" glasses. I'm sorry.

    Older Freightliner, not a Pete.

Has a granddaughter 'my age' (nearly 30) that they've raised. I'm assuming he meant late teens, early 20's. People often mistake my age.

I know its not much to go on...but I'm hoping someone might know this driver well enough to attach at least one of these things to someone they know, and it might be him and can put me in touch with him.

Thanks for any and all help. I know it may seem like a silly waste of time, but as I said earlier...those keys are very important to me and it broke my heart to have lost them.

Side note...if you are a May driver and you know your not him...disregard the Total truck frantically trying to flag you down!

Evidently, the content of your post here has circulated in the dispatch office at May in Brooks, OR. They're all drawing blanks as to who the driver is.

    millsjl01 Thanks this.

I really hope he doesn't get in to trouble for helping me out. That's a pretty awful way to repay a favor..
