I'm also signing up with may and I will be at orientation Aug 19th. Should I go 11 Western or 48???? I want miles and lots of it. I don't want to take home time as offten as others because I want to make some green. BTW how is the training and orientation like??? How long and Ect.

    Thanks.

Go with 48, orientation is short (4 days) and training depends on how quick you learn.

Orientation at May is bad for your waistline.

I also am starting orientation on the 19th. I really am looking forward to the experience. hope they can keep me busy.

not sure if I am going with the 90x90 thing. . I am hearing that May is extending the 90 out with a sliding scale to max at 120 a day. are the miles that few to need this?

The miles are fine. The 120 thing is offered to drivers with a year or more of experience.

They started the 90/90 program as a way for new drivers to have a consistant check. They felt that it would help to retain new drivers if they knew exactly what they would make week in and week out.

Plus, after the 90 days are over, you will be paid any difference in the miles ran vs what you got paid on the 90/90 program. So you won't lose any money enrolling in the program.

I averaged 2000 miles a week. One of the main reasons I left.

    Your mileage may vary.

I do far better than that, and have no complaints about the number of miles I am given. I have plenty of other complaints, but not about the miles.

When I drove for may my Freightshaker was governed at 61 by throttle and 62 by cruise control

Newbies beware some of their "yards" don't have facilities better than an outhouse. No place to wash your hands brush your teeth or get a meal. And you can't bobtail for food either
