Good info. Been waiting on a good Melton thread for a long time. Their drivers are almost always positive about the company. Considering OTR again and Melton definitely has my interest since I live in OKC.

That's what I like hearing about this place. They actually give you a place to unwind relax and get clean.can't wait to get there.

Been on the road for a week doing otr training , kinda dissappointed I had to do it when I would have rather just went out and worked but oh well its almost over. a guy in the class wanted to go out with a trainer and they said no , and no we couldnt just switch places . whatever is the key word here, I now know how to sit in a truck stop and eat truck stop food, and sleep on a 36" bunk. I am working on the big ol huge lies and trying to find a loud pair of cowboy boots and maybe a hat to sit on the dash. I still don't know who to ask if the mullet is optional or is it a requirement the further you get off the interstate.

Seriously I really like this job, company, and equipment . Even the trainer guy they assigned has been a very nice guy and we just have been bs'ing the whole time waiting for it to be over. I personally think the training is a huge waste of time unless your an idiot and need every little bit of help you can get , then its priceless and nowhere near enough! This is a common sense business with laws you have to follow , do both and it works out. ( maybe a little luck helps also ) I have nothing bad to say about my experience , there have been hangups here and there but not worth noting and certainly not significant.

I have a pretty open mind and plan on keeping my learning hat on for quite a while so I am apt to ask questions and thank more experienced guys than complain cause I don't know about something. I can see where Pride would get in the way a lot ,thankfully my exwife has all mine so its not a problem. Might have to pull an O.J. and break in her house and see if I can steal it back.

Man, I've been meaning to get back to you and see how everything's been going. So they put you with a trainer?

yep , just call anytime , I went with a trainer ( another driver really ) for a week and did what he did , wasnt a big deal . I am glad to be done with it and getting started. All my experiences here have been good , I keep waiting for the hammer to drop and get dissapointed with something but I haven't had anything set me back or mess me up yet. I have talked to a lot of people who arent enjoying it as much as me but all I can say is it is what you make of it - if you dont want to learn how to do the job you probably won't do well at this , if you want to have a great time and be a great flatbedder you will.
