Trainer and at risk? Again we were told in orientation held in Tulsa back in may of this year that all of the new trucks will have cameras installed. We were told They are for insurance purposes. but safety can turn them on and off at will, and I'm sure there's audio too. I'm sure Melton won't be bragging about the cameras in any of there recruiting ads. Nobody at least nobody with experience will come over here.. That would explain why they are hiring new grads. Good luck with that and a 46k lbs coil in Jan.

I went through orientation in Masury, Ohio in May of this year and we were told that not all new trucks have cameras. We were also told that they can not be turned on by safety, they can only be triggered by an event and the video is viewed by a company in California to determine if something actually happened and not just an error then the video is forwarded to Melton. My 2013 does not have a camera. I'm interested to know which orientation is spreading misinformation and why different classes are being given conflicting information? Or is this simply a case of a disgruntled driver lying in an attempt to scare others away from a company they feel has slighted them?
My Melton experience has been very positive so far. I've consistently ran at least 10k paid miles per month. If I had to guess I'd say roughly 75% of my loads have been tarped. Most of which has been 1 tarp and then get back on the road. I have only been home once and I was 2 days late but I was given the option of finishing my run or repowering in Masury to get me home on time. I chose to finish the load I was under.
Scotty Johnson, I think you made a really good choice. Good luck with the rest of orientation, and if I don't come back on this thread, welcome to Melton. -
I said it was in orienting at the main Tulsa terminal. And I'm not lying. I'm disgruntled by the fact there's a camera in the truck. Lol I have showed it to many drivers, Melton and non Melton drivers. Like I said we were told they were for insurance purposes. Yet mine was on for two days straight. I called road assistance thinking maybe it wasn't working rite.. He said to call safety they can turn it off. So I'm not sure where your getting your info from. But I'm getting mine from Melton. And the safety department that runs this company with a iron fist.. And another thing. That I'm being real about. I'm at 43 cents a mile. Wonder why my miles are so low?? Hmm.. yet Melton has adds on Craigslist and hiring guys out of school paying them much lower to start. I went through this same thing years ago at marten transport where I was making 42 cents a mile In 06. They cut the miles of the higher paid drivers forcing them out, while hiring new guys at low wage and give them miles. It's a dog eat dog world. Take it or leave it. I I won't drive for a company that doesn't appreciate me. I have over a million miles accident free, tanker, reefer, and flatbed xp. And a 0 csa score. And Melton wants to treat me like crap. It's there loss

Question: Are all of Melton's trucks automatics
-
Melton is essentially becoming a training wheels outfit... So for all you experienced drivers over there making over $.40 a mile have fun with 2000 miles a week because I don't think you're going to get much more than that anymore.. The rookies out of driving school making in the low to mid 30s for them are going to get all the miles -
Update:
All done with Orientation they flew me out to Birmingham, AL and put me in a hotel waiting for a trainer to come through. -
I am a recent grade as well. As recent as Fri 8/23. I have my tanker endorsement and took my Hazmat test today. I am also looking at Melton as a company to begin my career. I'm in the Austin area and as far as all of the research I've done, they seem to be a good company to begin a career. In addition, I'd like to start out driving flat beds. Living in the Tx area, there are many flat bed opportunities.

No mile$ at Melton. I just got a load from MN to Kansas and it doesn't deliver until Tues. I asked dm if I could drop in Tulsa and keep rolling. He said no. So that's only 1400 miles for the week and I miss the payroll cutoff on moon. So no paycheck next week. I think I'll drop the the load and the truck off in Tulsa anyways. This is BS!
