I loved my DM. We worked in unison together. Problems were minimal and when there was one is was solved on the fly. I never ran illegal but I always did as I was asked of and in the end I gained from it. Scratch my back and I'll scratch yours kinda deal. Never called up in the middle of my break "YOU NEED TO GET MOVING!" They were always big about that. If at any point you get tired. STOP! It's happened a time or two but was never an issue. Just let'em know.

I love this, i told you i would get #### for this and look who is giving me #### not even a melton driver. Wow had to have 6months otr dude that was like more then a year ago. Get with the times. If you dont think a company can change over night then you have some waking up to do. Know i know your going to jump in with some other bs they you can throw out there like 2 tarps and not 3 but one thing you have to think about and i have to remind myself i'm talking to a up state LA, i did not say there were to hard for me to lift or move. It has always been easyer to throw the lumber tarps. but all the new little cry babys can't so now we have 3. and we even have a diff color middle tarp because the new guys can't tell the diff. So yha it has changed and yes i can see load boards becuase i was shown them. I can walk right into the Dm area as i do not make waves and i get along with everyone. This is an informant post nothing more and stop hatting the old guys with personal trucks most of them can work you to death as i have seen it. Just because your time here was diff then mine dose not make it a lie or truth....this is all the way i see things. And try reading the whole post things have changed in the last 6 months, you dont work there what

I didn't go to the orientation in Tulsa. I was at the one in Masury. If you were referring to me...lol.

It really depends on the DM. I would call 2 out of the 3 DM's I had when I worked there just to say hi and bs a little....

I guess as long as they're not busy, they wouldn't mind. But I was probably dead wrong anyways. Wanda, the DM the guy above was complaining out, is my DM as of yesterday and she seems very nice to me. No attitude whatsoever. I should have known better than to suspect the guy complaining about her could be right because I see the same sort of thing way too often.

People who have nothing but bad things to say are usually the type who just have bad attitudes in the first place. Just like a guy I ran in to a while back who had nothing but hate and complaints for the training fleet DM he had. I had the same one and he was nothing like the other driver was saying. Other driver has been in training fleet for 8+ weeks, and I'm out after 4 (not including the week off over the holiday). The biggest complainers always seem to be the ones with the worst attitudes. What's that saying - if everyone around you is a jerk, maybe it's you who's the jerk!

Anyways, I've worked myself ragged over the past week and just finished the toughest load I've had yet at Melton - a 3-stop Western Extrusion load where they put the first stop's crap along the sides and the second stop in the middle so that I had to, A: Strap it and use all three tarps to tarp it, B: Take off two tarps and peel one half way back to get the first stop unloaded, then replace both tarps and all the securement to tarp down the second stop (which still went all the way to the back of the trailer), C: Take off two tarps again at stop two and put one of them back on, and D: Figure out some creative ways of securing stuff after stops were taken off. Really difficult load, but 3 stops, tarped, 1400 miles... I bet I won't be complaining on Friday. Heh heh heh. If anyone thinks you won't work at Melton, they've got it dead wrong. This is the first moment I've had to really relax since Thursday.

I was always lucky when I went to Anal Intrusions....I either had a one stopper--full trailer load, a two stopper half/half load, or a three stopper neatly separated (both times I got 3 stoppers, the first stop was one single pallet on the rear, and two sections of equal length material at other 2). I can safely say that in the 2 years and approx 15 times of going to Western Ext, I only had 1 difficult load.

I take that back. I had a Uhaul load going to Phoenix area--it took 20 straps to secure it there were so many short length stacks. It tarped relatively easy though, and I repowered it for a guy to get home to Phoenix for a wedding. Pissed me off though, I woulda been at the J in Phoenix on saturday, at the race track for Nascar on Sunday....:( oh well, it happens lol

This is 5 months with Melton and I am still enjoying it. I have had two DMs and both have been easy to work with. I have Wanda now and really enjoy working with her. She is no non-sense, but she is very fair and responds to any questions/issues I have had. Maybe I communicate too much, but better too much information than not enough. I have been getting good miles, for the most part. This week I have gone from Laredo to Toronto area and now back to Laredo. First time to Canada and DM worked with me to get it done right. Have had a little bit of an issue with this load and the wt distribution so can't take a full load of fuel and be legal on the drives. Worked with me on that issue with no problems and changed a delivery time based on available hours. Got some less than stellar tarps on a repower (trailer was in the yard), but finally got to exchange an end tarp that had the flap cut off that was my middle tarp. I didn't go with a trainer because I had some "experience" and have learned a lot from a couple of drivers who have worked with me. I drive pretty conservatively and have not had any late arrivals. Even got one early drop on one load. I watch my mpg's pretty close and got the fuel bonus the first time eligible. Home time at Christmas was sort of squirrely, but got there and got my full time.

Melton has done everything they said they would. Sometimes I sit longer than I want and sometimes the pickup times seem pretty impossible, but that seems to be trucking. Directions can occasionally be a bit cryptic or out of date. Other than that it seems to be a pretty good place to work. Then again, I don't mind following procedures and rules. Works for me.

Wow i think he just didn't get how to tarp or anything. I'm new and have no problems, average time taking a tarp off and folding 2 tarps is about and hour including straps. I always ask shipper does it really need a tarp, they tried to have me tarp weathered steel and i know it doesn't need it. From what i hear it all comes to your dm i have talked to other drivers and attitude is key too. I've had 3 break downs currently on 3rd and each time my dm calls and apologies for wait or how slow outside repairs is being. He takes great care of me, always makes up for my lack of miles. My home time has been usually day i wanted or day before. I think it all comes to how you treat people and how hard u are willing to work. I'm averaging 7 mpg it's not hard to do even heavy and on hills. Monday morning he called me apologizing because weekend dispatch sent me a load with no directions and we're fighting me on fuel. It's all about how you make it and treat it.
