I don't think it matters on hometime as long as you have somewhere safe to. park the truck. I may be wrong. you mean like no reason to be home but take a break somewhere new? Couldn't see why not... I would do the same if I didn't have to be home.
I should be at a terminal by tomorrow. I can ask, but is that what you mean?
congrats gr8dane...im sure you'll start quick... time to go make some $ -
Hey bnrobot. That is exactly what I mean. I have family on the east coast and would like to be able to take home time there to visit them. Same with other places, if I just want to take hometime somewhere other then my home to visit a particular place. I understand the truck needs to be parked in a safe place and it would have to be somewhere where freight would be going. I would appreciate if you would ask about it at the terminal, Im sure others would like to know as well.
Thank you for taking the time -
I ran with a driver the other day and the hometime at different locations topic came up. He has his wife on the truck with him and he was ready for some time off, said his wife has family in the Vegas area and has room to park the truck. He asked for hometime there and was told no. DM told him that he can only take hometime in jersey because that's where he lives.
I don't know if this is Melton's policy or if it was just his DM saying no. He does have a rather new DM according to him.
Last company I was with, you send in any zip code for hometime and that's where they send you. -

I was told the same as what mrh said. You have to take home time where you live.

Hello all, one more question if you guys dont mind. Whats the policy on leaving the truck? What I mean is say you get to a truck stop or a customer and you have some free time. Are you allowed to walk down the street to a restaurant or a movie or something like that. Is there a certain radius from your truck within which you have to stay?
Thank you all again.
