Is it true that orientation is now 8 days? If so what do you do in addition to the 4 days like was described in a couple other threads? I dont know if I should start a new thread for this or ask here since its relevant to the original post? -
Can't help you on that one! I started here a year ago and did 4 days of orientation. I'd bet that if it is in fact 8 days orientation, the extra days will be spent securing and tarping.

One question I have is they say to pack lightly cause there ain't much room in the truck sleepers which I understand. Would 2 med sized duffel bags be ok? Or is that to much?
Thx -
i brought a bag big enough for 2 weeks of clothes, a sleeping bag, a pillow and a backpack like that you would use in school for dirty clothes or just extra room. i slept with my bag in the bunk at my feet. wasnt bad at all.
and yes orientation is now 8 days. i heard what youre thinking, more securement training those extra daysGr8Dane Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info bnrobot, I will keep that in mind. I was thinking of the same thing...keep the duffel bag at my feet..should be ok then.

Back in my day on a trainers truck, I brought a normal sized duffle bag and a small shower bag and a sleeping bag. That's about all you need, I guess.
-
Not sure what kind of truck your trainer will be in, but these 660's are not very spacious.

Hey, another question. Whats the policy on breaking route. Meaning if you are driving somewhere and you want to stop at a wal mart or something like that? How far off course can you go? This is of course assuming that you still make the delivery on time. Also what about if you deliver a load but do not have a new one, where do you go to wait for the next one and how far can you go in the mean time? Thank you all again, this is really making it much easier to get an understanding of life on the road.
