About me- 25 6'4 300 lbs. I currently have 10 months driving experience. I'm looking to drive for melton. I'm looking to flat bed because I want more work that's physical. I was and am an ex division 1 prospect for football. So I'm a big guy but I'm not like terribly grossly can't climb out of the truck or back in it. I can get up on trailer and out of it like nothing.

i like melton what they offer for pay and the pet policy I really like.

Anyways ya I currently am averaging 750-1100 a week take home at the company in at now. They get me home when I want no questions asked. I stay out 3-4 weeks at a time and that's no problem. Is melton like TMC? Cause TMC turned me down and I know it's because of my weight. They wouldn't say that though.

Honest opinions please. Won't hurt my feelings.

You won't make the money your making now unless you luck out and get the long runs out west. They kept me on east coast and I was lucky to break 1800 miles. I left there for many reasons but the fact I was going broke was the biggest.

I wasn't new to flatbed and can tell you I hustle and still lost. The company I was with pulling flats before required us to do 3500 a week and I did and hurst (TTR member) can vouch so obviously nothing in my control.

    RogerThat72 Thanks this.

I'd say you'll make 650-750 take home most weeks, thats at 2200-2500 miles a week at .37 cpm with 2-3 tarps. You will not get home when you want to get home, you'll get home around the time you want to be there, at least that is my experience.

Honestly, you make more money where you are. How many miles are you running? What are you at for cpm? Personally, I'd rather run less and get more cpm than run more for less cpm. Work smarter, not harder!

I had a very good experience (2 years, 6 mo) with Melton. I made about 50k or so but I had a great DM. They have nice equipment, supply everthing you need for securement; 14 straps, 12 chains, 4 ratchet straps, snap and ratchet binders, ect. Other companies I worked for often did not give me what I needed and their stuff was all beat up.

It's all about the dm. I've been average 800-900 bucks a week.
