Trans Am good or bad company???

    I have already applied and spoke with recruiters for the top companies I wanted to work for but I get shut down because I'm out of the hiring area. I live in central/northern michigan and half of the otr companies don't hire in this area. So I am going to have to go with Swift, Werner, etc. I will definitely not go with swift or werner but I have the option of Trans Am. I heard mixed reviews about this company but I need to start somewhere. I am a recent truck driving school graduate. Any info would help. Thanks!

    Cranky Yankee is right to go to that thread. It's a continuation of another thread TransAm Trucking, Inc. - Olathe, Ks.


    The older thread is a long read and admittedly a lot has changed since August, 2006, but I found it to be very informative and a lot of the information given still holds true today. Granted, eight years ago was a long time ago, but for my own studying purposes I find the older the better. Good to see where the company has gone over the years and how it has changed for get an idea of where it might be heading.

    I am with Werner and I am happy here.. came to werner after a. Ad experience with a smaller company. ? I have been with werner since the 1st of the year... now, I am on a dedicated account... I got on an intermodal dedicated right off the trainers truck... and recently just switched to another on that I like very much..

    I see a lot of trans am truck out on the road.. so they do seem to have loads.. have never really talked to their drivers, except a few weeks ago i chatted with one at the fuel island... he seemed like a nice decent guy and seemed happy...
